Beginner Boot Camp

This track is for the new user who has not designed in Canvas or is just getting started.  Topics may relate to designing or planning a new course. Sessions should be primarily hands-on, allowing the new user to both learn and practice.

  • Converting face to face activities to online

  • Using the basic tools in Canvas

  • Creating a home page with buttons

  • Using Canva to create images for your course

Teaching and Learning 

This track encompasses all content areas with specific session relating to math, science, social studies and language arts.  The sessions in this track are designed to help teachers understand innovative ways to provide instruction in Canvas.  Sessions also include using currently available resources like Discovery Education and Britannica to provide effective online instruction.

  • Mastery paths

  • Collaboration in Canvas

  • Blended learning using Canvas

  • The flipped classroom

  • Subject specific how-to lessons from teachers in the field

​Tools and Technologies

This track is designed to provide educators information about the latest and greatest technologies available to be used with Canvas. Session will focus on both LTI and non LTI technologies   Sessions include opportunities to not only see a demonstration of how tools are used in Canvas but also time to experiment with the tools and incorporate them into a Canvas course.
